Look at those eyes! Capturing kids at all ages is one of my favorite things about photography. This little man will never be just like this again, but we got to freeze it and his mama will smile every time she passes this portrait on her wall.

I felt so lucky to be asked to photograph this special day. This is my friend, Natalie, whom I’ve known since our days back in Iowa. We both moved there from Utah with our very little littles and felt far away from our families. After some tough years, she had this glorious day where she was sealed to her sweetheart, Chris. In the LDS faith, sealing is believed to continue relationships beyond this life. Look at those smiles! Pure joy–and totally overrides the fact that we shot these photos in 100-degree noon heat. I’m looking forward to summer, but maybe not that hot!
I have so many shoots with beautiful photos that I want to share. So over the next weeks, I’m going to catch up on some 2018 posts. I’m going to start with this beautiful missionary. She is now serving in Estonia.
This was a last minute session that I’m so glad we were able to pull off! This sweet 8 year old’s mom called me sounding a little teary–stressed out by life in general and by the fact that she hadn’t scheduled a shoot to get photos before her daughter’s baptism. It was Monday, the baptism was Saturday. She asked, “Is there any chance?” and I said, “I can do it tonight. But that’s really it. Can we make that happen?” We ran up to the aspens and look at the magic we caught!
